Wing Memorial, Queensbury

On Upper Bay Street, on the bank of Half Way Brook stands a granite stone with a bronze tablet on which is the following:
Wing
Abraham and Edward
Pioneers in the Town of Queensbury
They were descended from the Rev. John Wing and Deborah Batcheler
She with four sons came to America in 1632
In 1762 King George gave a grant of the Town of Queensbury
to Abraham and Edward Wing and others
About 1785 the Society of Friends built a log meting house on the ground
Here was kept the first school and
here was the first burial ground of the Pioneer Fathers
